The same guidelines apply to posts, comments, articles and profiles.

Be kind to the people, not just the plants

Everyone here is somewhere on the learning curve, and every grower has killed a plant. Give advice generously, take questions seriously and skip the sarcasm. Harassment, hate speech and pile-ons have no place here.

Keep it about plants

Photos of what you grow, care questions, wins, losses, repots, rescues, cuttings. A post that has nothing to do with plants belongs somewhere else.

Post your own photos

Share pictures you took of plants you can actually see. Don't pass off someone else's photo as yours, and don't post pictures of people who haven't agreed to it.

Selling? Say so

Talking about a shop, a cutting you're selling or a brand you work with is fine, as long as you say so plainly in the post. Repetitive promotion, bulk posting and affiliate spam are not.

Nothing harmful, nothing illegal

No content that puts people, animals or protected species at risk: no poaching from the wild, no trade in protected plants, no advice that would hurt someone who followed it. Identifying a plant is never a substitute for medical or veterinary advice.

Report anything that doesn't belong

Every post, comment and profile can be reported. Content that's reported repeatedly is hidden while it's being reviewed.

When something isn't right

Report the content from the app and pick the reason that fits. A moderator reviews it, and the author never knows who reported it.

You can also block any member. That person no longer sees your posts, comments or profile, and you no longer see theirs.

What gets checked before it's published

Posts, comments and profiles are reviewed before they appear. If something doesn't follow these guidelines, the app tells you: you can edit it, or write to us if you think it's a mistake.

Badges, not a competition

Badges reward real actions: a task that was due, a growth photo, a reply to someone. They can't be bought and they don't lock any feature. A helpful answer still counts when nobody's counting.
